The Serengeti

One of the first things we did on our trip was to safari into the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. What a welcome to Africa!! The photos speak for themselves (I will be adding a second Serengeti page some time soon so stay tuned). click on any image for a larger version.

A lion scratches himself. We saw an unbelievable number of cats on the trip! This is how close we got to the prides!
One of a pair of cheetah we saw on the way out of the Serengeti (just before it started bucketing with rain).
Andrew checks out the rules for entry to the conservation area. Michael at the gate.
A pair of crocs watch in anticipation. Hyenas.
A leopard lazes in a tree oblivious to our presence. A pride of lion after a good feed.
In a Masai village. Here performing a traditional dance They wear these outfits everywhere - wherever we stopped we didn't have to wait long for a Masai visitor..
Inside the crater - the famous flamingos. A family of Zebra.
No description. The wildebeast and zebra were everywhere on the plains.
A curious giraffe. warthog.
More zebra, drinking from a stream in the crater.
